China News Service, September 29. According to several foreign media reports including Agence France-Presse and Reuters, Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Ahmed Jaber Al-Sabah passed away at the age of 91.

The Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Ahmed Jaber Al-Sabah has passed away.

  Sabah became Kuwait’s fifteenth Emir in January 2006. He previously served as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Petroleum, and Prime Minister.

He implanted a pacemaker in 2000, and received surgery for urinary tract infection in August 2007.

In September 2019, Sabah visited the United States and was admitted to the hospital for a physical examination, and returned to Kuwait in October.

  In July 2020, Sabah went to the United States, was admitted to the hospital for a physical examination, and underwent surgery on the 19th.

The Ministry of Court Affairs of Kuwait previously issued a statement saying that after Sabah was admitted to the hospital, the 83-year-old Crown Prince Sheikh Navaf Ahmed Jaber Al-Sabah will temporarily assume part of the power of the head of state.

  Sabah is known as the "designer of modern Kuwait's foreign policy."

Crown Prince Nawaf has rich experience in politics and has held important positions in national defense and internal affairs for decades.
