September 28, 2020Uber, the American giant of online booking taxis, will be able to continue operating in London where it employs around 45,000 drivers and serves millions of users.

This was decided today by a British judge of the Westminster Magistrates Court in London, accepting the company's appeal against a license block announced last November by Transport for London (TfL), the public transport body of the capital that belongs to the Municipality led by Labor Mayor Sadiq Khan.

According to the ruling, which puts an end to about three years of legal conflict that started with a previous suspension of the license that Uber had initially been wronged by justice, the company is now in a position to operate in compliance with British laws despite "historical past violations "of legislation concerning passenger safety and workers' rights.
