Today, the remains of the seventh batch of 117 volunteers from the Korean Volunteer Army and related relics were transported back to China by Air Force Transport -20 and a welcome ceremony was held at Shenyang Taoxian Airport.

2020 is the 70th anniversary of the Chinese People’s Volunteers’ going abroad to fight against the US and aid Korea.

In this war that lasted 2 years and 9 months, 197685 Chinese People's Volunteers and soldiers fought bloody battles and gave their precious lives for the final victory of the war.

From 2014 to 2020, in seven years, the remains of 716 Chinese People's Volunteers in South Korea returned to the motherland and their souls returned to their homeland.

This is the seventh time that my country has welcomed back the remains of the Korean Volunteers. The previous six were completed on the eve of Qingming Festival.

This time, affected by the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the welcome ceremony was finally set on the eve of the "September 30" Martyrs Memorial Day.

On the occasion of commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Chinese People’s Volunteers’ going abroad to fight the United States and Aid Korea and on the eve of the "September 30" Martyrs’ Memorial Day, the burial of the remains of the Korean Volunteers can better stimulate the patriotism of the masses, enhance national self-confidence, and demonstrate The image of my country as a peace-loving and responsible great country makes remembering meritorious services and praising heroes truly become the common value pursuit of the whole society.

Number 01 Tribute to the Hero

This is the first time that Yun-20, as a special plane, has carried out the task of transporting the remains of volunteer martyrs back to China.

The number 01 on the fuselage is intended to express the respect of the motherland and the people to the martyrs who resisted US aggression and aid Korea, and to comfort the martyrs and heroes.

After entering the designated handover airspace, two J-11B fighter planes lifted off to escort the special plane transport -20 carrying the remains and remains of the seventh batch of 117 Chinese People's Volunteers in South Korea.

At about 12:00 noon, the special plane arrived at Shenyang Taoxian Airport and two J-11Bs pulled smoke at low altitude.

"After seventy years, the mountains and rivers are safe, and the hero returns home!" When the special plane arrived at the airport, the conversation between the tower staff and the Yun-20 plane was moving.

The heroic spirit will survive the ages, the fallen leaves will return to their roots, and the motherland will take you home!

Joined the highest courtesy of the Watergate ceremony for the first time to welcome the hero home

Different from the six previous visits to the remains of the Volunteer Army soldiers in Korea, this ceremony included the “passing the water gate” link for the first time.

"Crossing the water gate" is the highest level of etiquette in the civil aviation industry, which means catching wind and washing dust.

Today, when the Yun-20 special plane landed at Shenyang Taoxian International Airport, the fire trucks on both sides sprayed water jets at the same time to form a spectacular water gate, intended to pay the most lofty respect to the martyrs who resisted the US and aid Korea.

After the Y-20 plane docked, more than two hundred soldiers placed the coffins of the 117 martyrs in the sorting area. After wiping and covering the national flag, they placed the coffins in the storage area.

The handling process seems simple. In fact, in order to ensure that each step is accurate and perfect, the soldiers have been training for dozens of days. Previously, they had to train for more than 11 hours under the scorching sun every day.

The purpose of these hard training is to welcome the comrades back home with the most perfect posture.

Citizens of Shenyang are waiting for the hero to return, and the 90-year-old veteran salute

On the square of the Shenyang Municipal Government, some citizens have long been silently waiting for the heroes to return home. One citizen said emotionally: "We can have a good life today because our ancestors exchanged their lives and blood. No matter how long we wait, we must Wait till the end to welcome the hero to return home!"

While transporting the remains of the Volunteer Army martyrs and related relics to the Shenyang Anti-US Aid Korea Martyrs Cemetery, Shenyang City set up 5 mass gathering points, and some volunteer veterans and children of martyrs also participated in the welcoming activities.

Among them, a well-known veteran of the Chinese Volunteer Army, who was nearly 90 years old, stood silently beside the road and welcomed the souls of former comrades-in-arms to the motherland in a salute.

The remains of the seventh batch of martyrs are buried in the cemetery of the martyrs in Shenyang

Tomorrow (September 28), the remains of martyrs and related relics, like the remains of the 599 heroes who returned to China in the first six batches, will be buried in the Shenyang Anti-US Aid Korea Martyrs Cemetery.

The Shenyang Anti-US Aid Korea Martyrs Cemetery was built in 1951 and buried 123 volunteer martyrs including Yang Gensi, Huang Jiguang, Qiu Shaoyun, Sun Zhanyuan, and Yang Liandi.

The placement of the remains of the volunteers is a tribute to the heroic spirits of the martyrs, as well as to the relatives of the martyrs, to all the veterans of the volunteers who are still alive, and to the hearts and minds of the people across the country.

In order to welcome the heroes to return home, starting from April, the cemetery has carried out a series of environmental maintenance projects to welcome the heroes to return home with a brand new look.

Early this morning, the staff of the cemetery came to the scene to present flowers to the martyrs and express their grief.

Three seals were found in the remains, three relatives of the martyrs have been found

"Finding relatives for the martyrs" is one of the most important tasks after welcoming the remains of the martyrs.

On September 26, the enshrinement ceremony for the remains of the seventh batch of Chinese People’s Volunteers in South Korea and related relics was held in Incheon, South Korea.

This is the largest number of South Korean excavations and transfers to China in a single year after the first batch of 437 in 2014.

Among the martyrs' relics returned this time were pens, belts, water bottles and other items. Three seals were also found, belonging to the martyrs Ma Shixian, Lin Shuishi, and Ding Zuxi.

Up to now, relatives of Fujian martyr Lin Shuishi, Henan martyr Ma Shixian, and Anhui martyr Ding Zuxi have all been found.

Heroic heroes, return home!

The staff of the Martyrs Cemetery will further sort out and verify these relics. The Ministry of Veterans Affairs will also further deepen cooperation and exchanges with South Korea and actively promote the protection of the remains of the Chinese People’s Volunteers in South Korea.
