Not necessarily at the top of the list

Karima Delli, president of the Transport committee in the European Parliament and Damien Carême, former mayor of Grande-Synthe (North), "will be keen to bring together all energies and all wishes behind their candidacies", adds the party.

Because this designation does not necessarily mean that they will be at the top of the list.

On September 9, several officials and elected officials of EELV, the PS and the PCF, including Karima Delli, the boss of the socialist senators Patrick Kanner, and the number one of the PCF Fabien Roussel, had called in a forum to "create the conditions for 'a rally' of the left for the regional elections.

Since then, the PCF has appointed its own regional leaders on Saturday: the senator of Pas-de-Calais Cathy Apourceau-Poly and the national secretary of the party Fabien Roussel.

He said he was "very open in the construction of this gathering, on the head of the lists as on the content".

"We are at the center of the game"

Friday, the LFI deputy of the North Ugo Bernalicis had announced his own candidacy, proposing to EELV and the PCF to line up behind him.

On the side of the PS, senators Patrick Kanner - who says he is ready to be a leader - and Laurence Rossignol are also expected.

“We are in discussion with the other left forces.

All say they want to work with us, which means that we are at the center of the game, ”said EELV regional secretary Katy Vuylsteker.

The Greens led the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region from 1992 to 1998, when Marie-Christine Blandin was president, as part of a union of the left.
