• Process.Conchi on the bench

Conchi

, the woman accused of killing her husband in Alicante 15 days after the wedding, has sat before the jury with her contradictions and her firmness;

with a hasty and incongruous speech with which she has shown her dual character, the same one that made her pretend a tetraplegia that she did not suffer.

Conchi has fired at everyone: at the

police

, the victim's son and the judicial investigators, but above all she has been unable to connect the links of an event that keeps her on the bench facing 30 years in prison.

Cranky at times and shy at others, the one known as

Alicante's 'black widow'

has refused to hold her husband José Luis, 65, while her caretaker, also accused, stabbed him with a screwdriver to death, just as maintains the prosecutor.

In her more than two hours of testimony, she distanced herself from the crime and tried to incriminate her husband's son despite the fact that there was never evidence against him and it was shown that he was not in the parking lot where the man died that night.

She has assured that she had met there with her husband and that she arrived accompanied by her carer.

"He - the caretaker - got out of the car and then I heard 'help, aid, help' and I, crying as I could, got up and crawled there."

"My husband said 'my son has nailed it to my heart, I love you my princess'".

"Nobody paid me or fucking attention when we asked for help."

Later, she denounced an alleged mistreatment by the police who detained her and, as she has said, that was the reason why she took two months to give a statement.

"They called me a murderer, they kicked me, they threw water and food in my face."

The events date back to August 20, 2018, in a parking area on the

Playa de la Albufereta in Alicante

.

The accused had married the victim 15 days ago and has explained that she met her through her caretaker, in a procession of the Virgen de la Salud.

They never shared a house.

He has indicated, after several contradictions, that when he got married he was in a wheelchair, he needed it because he had a disease: "I have a plaque in my neck that crushes my nerves and causes fibromyalgia and sometimes they whip me and I fall to the ground. There are times that I can take a glass and others that not. I have never hidden that, "he narrated.

Conchi and her husband met on the day of the event, August 20, in the beach parking lot to go to dinner at a bar - she said it was a "romantic dinner" at the time - which they had gone to on two occasions. previous, as explained by the accused.

"I had gone twice with my husband before, to dinner and to see the moon and stars and to throw flowers to the children."

Asked about this last point, she has indicated that she always does something like that because she has had two miscarriages.

To go to the beach, the defendant has indicated that she traveled with her caretaker, because he was her driver.

She punctured a wheel and they were delayed, she said, calling the victim to warn her.

"Then he called me and told me to skip the traffic lights because we were going to be late, but I answered no because I pay the bills," he warned.

That day she stated that she was dressed in "black or gray", with a cap because her hair "snorted" and gloves to keep her fingers from getting cold.

When he reached the parking lot, his caretaker came out, prepared him to get him out of the car and went to the trunk to get his wheelchair.

After that, he explained that he heard his friend scream and ask for help, so he got out of the vehicle as best he could and crawled there: "As I could, I pushed myself. Half crawling ... I was going like a cat."

"I didn't know what was happening. He said something, it was not understood and I told him to be calm, that help was coming."

"He stammered and said 'My son has nailed it to my heart. It's not the saying as you say.'

At that time he also saw a third person who got into a car, but did not recognize his face.

"I dream a lot about this person to try to find out who he was, but I don't know," he added.

Then the police arrived and the defendant said that an agent told her that they had killed the victim to take her money and life insurance.

"I said that it was not true, that I know my husband did not have life insurance or property of anything".

The Prosecutor's Office maintains that the defendants pounced on the victim, threw him to the ground and repeatedly drove screwdrivers until he was killed.

At first, Conchi attributed the crime to "some blacks", then kept silent for two months and later claimed that it was her stepson who killed her husband.
