The main defendant is a man who was administrative area manager at the authority in the years 2007-2015.

He is suspected, in addition to receiving bribes, of renting out houses and apartments belonging to the work to relatives and friends.

It has been about very exclusive accommodation, including at one of the castles the authority is responsible for.

The main suspect official himself lived in one of the wings at Rosersberg Castle, which belongs to the Swedish Property Agency.

The suspicions concern gross taking of bribes, gross infidelity towards a principal, bookkeeping violations and unlawful disposal.

The largest corruption investigation

The bribes are estimated to have amounted to SEK 7.8 million.

- This is one of the largest cases that we have investigated and which has led to prosecution regarding bribes in Sweden.

The preliminary investigation material has been very extensive, said Ingela Nordling at the National Anti-Corruption Group in connection with the prosecution.

Another employee at the Swedish Property Agency is charged with aiding and abetting infidelity against the principal and gross taking of a bribe.

The agency's former director general Björn Andersson, who was fired in connection with Kalla Fakta revealing the scandal, is facing trial on suspicion of misconduct because he did not sound the alarm.

Free renovation job

Several informants claim that the director general has known for a long time about the suspicions of criminal activity at the authority without doing anything.

Andersson denies any wrongdoing and denies any wrongdoing.

Three subcontractors are accused of grossly giving bribes.

The bribes must, among other things, have been paid for in the form of new construction and renovation work on the government employees' private properties in Roslagen and in Finland.

According to the prosecutor, the property area manager must also have his company send invoices for fabricated work, including window renovations, to a subcontractor.

These invoices have then been forwarded to the Swedish Property Agency, where the main suspect himself has certified them.

The main hearings in Stockholm District Court are expected to last for 23 trial days and end on 25 November 2020.
