He said that the government's goal of balancing the migration of population to the Tokyo area and the migration to other prefectures by 2024 should be "continued to be raised."
On that basis, Minister Sakamoto expressed his intention to call for further promotion of telework and exchange opinions with the heads of local governments in order to correct the overconcentration.
Regarding the correction of the overconcentration in Tokyo, Prime Minister Suga has previously instructed Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications Takeda to investigate the actual situation in the region and consider effective measures.
