According to the indictment, the man did not report that he started working at the same time as he received full sickness compensation.

As a result, he received incorrect payments on 47 occasions, between January 2016 and November 2019.

In its report, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency has written that the man "should have realized that he cannot receive full sickness compensation at the same time as he works full time".

The man himself admits the course of events, but denies the crime.

Unusual with such high amounts

This summer, two similar cases were discovered in Jämtland County.

Then one man was obliged to pay back SEK 270,000 and another man SEK 354,000.

Jan-Erik Vaara, unit manager at the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, said in an interview with SVT Jämtland that it is rare for someone to "accidentally" get such high amounts incorrectly paid.
