After several days of negotiation, the new Prime Minister of the Transition was appointed this Sunday.

The choice fell on a civilian, the diplomat and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Moctar Ouane.

After the investitures of the president and vice-president, the interim executive is therefore closed, but the Economic Community of West African States has still not lifted its sanctions.

Theoretically, the sanctions should already be lifted.

But soon 24 hours

after the Prime Minister's appointment

, this is still not the case.

There are probably last minute tweaks.

During his last stay in Bamako, the ECOWAS mediator, Goodluck Jonathan affirmed that "

the sub-regional institution had still not received the final version of the transition charter

", that is to say the document. which validates the 18-month transition.

Clarifications awaited

Then, in this charter, ECOWAS wanted clarifications.

Currently, in a version of the charter that is circulating, the vice-president, the leader of the August 18 coup leaders, can replace

the transitional president

if he is unable

to attend

.

For ECOWAS, this is out of the question, we must remove this provision and therefore review the copy.

Another expectation of Malians is the transitional government.

Its composition should fall overnight.

The M5, this famous movement of June 5 which claims to have contributed in particular to the fall of IBK, is negotiating posts.

What about M5?

Nevertheless, the M5 is for the moment the big loser since the putsch.

He was not involved in the nomination of either the president or the vice-president of Transition.

And for the post of Prime Minister, this motley movement presented 14 files.

Fourteen candidates for the prime minister's office who have all been capped at the post by Moctar Ouane.
