The factory in Fågelmara is the largest plant for tomato ketchup in the Nordic countries.

27,000 tonnes of ketchup are produced here every year.

But since a couple of weeks ago, there have been problems with ketchup production - when parts on a machine did not work.

It is about the so-called filling machine, the part of the machinery that will fill the bottles with the finished product.

- We have been forced to close a line for some days.

This has been going on for a couple of weeks and then the production has had to stand still for a few days now and then.

When it has been able to be up and running, it has been slower, so it does not work optimally, says the company's communications director Cecilia Gannedahl.

There are new parts for the machine that have been delivered, but which did not work and which then had to be sent back again on several occasions.

How does this affect the availability of ketchup?

- It has so far not affected the customers and not our supply.

We have an overcapacity for interruptions.

But it is clear that should it stand completely still for a long time, then it can cause problems.

New parts coming this week

Now the filling machine will be updated with new parts and suppliers are in place in Fågelmara during this week to solve the problem.

- Parts have broken and it has taken longer than we thought to get new deliveries.

But from the information I received, this should be remedied during this week, says Cecilia Gannedahl.
