This Sunday, a hunting accident claimed the life of a 16-year-old teenager in Châtelaillon-Plage, near La Rochelle.
While the young man, holder of the hunting license, was handling his rifle, the shot would have gone off by itself, fatally injuring his head, reports
Sud-Ouest.
The hunting accident happened around 8 p.m., as the teenager had gone hunting with his 12-year-old half-brother, who witnessed the tragedy.
An investigation was entrusted to the Angoulins gendarmerie brigade to find out what exactly happened.
A forensic examination is planned soon in Poitiers.
