The fire broke out after midnight, on the night of Sunday to Monday, in a building in Sarrebourg, in Moselle.

The fire would have broken out in a room of an apartment without the causes being known for the moment, according to Le Républicain Lorrain.

Firefighters managed to extinguish the flames and evacuate almost all tenants from the eight units.

Almost because they discovered the charred body of a woman in her fifties, who was lying in an apartment in the attic, according to the regional daily.

An investigation was opened to determine the precise causes of this fire.
