This is the fifth cyclist killed on the roads of the department since January.

According to the Loire-Atlantique Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis 44), a 31-year-old cyclist died on Monday morning, a little before 9 a.m., boulevard de la Prairie au Duc, in Nantes, after being struck by a heavy weight.

Despite successive attempts to revive witnesses, firefighters and the SMUR (mobile emergency and resuscitation service), the young woman could not be saved.

The accident took place in a neighborhood and at a time of day where there are a lot of cyclists.

Many people going to work on the island of Nantes came across the accident.
