Employees and the CGT of Cargill Haubourdin (North) as well as several other regions officially launched on Monday a website, "Stoplicenciement.fr", in order to identify social plans throughout the territory and to help the employees concerned to unite to defend their rights.

"This initiative is part of the base and Cargill Haubourdin with several CGT unions from other regions (Pays-de-Loire, Rhône-Alpes, Midi-Pyrénées ...) to stop the social breakdown in France", explained to AFP Dorian Vallois, CGT union representative for Cargill Haubourdin, where a PSE could lead to 186 layoffs out of 300 people employed in total by the American giant in the trading and processing of agricultural raw materials.

"We have very big fears for our future and that of future generations. It is a question of helping the employees concerned to come together and unite," he added, after a presentation of the site by videoconference.

In addition to a graphic map listing the social plans (112 listed to date, including Auchan, Axa, Courtepaille, Luxfer, GE, Michelin, Bosch ...), the site invites employees and unions concerned locally to register in a database of data which makes it possible to put them in link and to bring them together to "organize collective initiatives", according to Mr. Vallois.

The site also presents a "bill" which would oblige employers in particular to justify the real reason for redundancies.

The number of job protection plans (PSE) has reached 394 since March, against 249 over the same period last year, according to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Labor.

As part of these PES initiated from March 1 to September 13, nearly 57,000 terminations of employment contracts are envisaged in total, according to the same source.
