The parties discussed the sharp aggravation of the situation in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Putin expressed concern over the resumption of large-scale clashes. 

“It was noted that now it is important to take all the necessary efforts to prevent further escalation of the confrontation, and most importantly, it is necessary to stop military actions,” the Kremlin said.

Earlier, the Azerbaijani parliament made a decision to introduce martial law in a number of regions of the country.

The government of Armenia introduced martial law in the country and announced a general mobilization of the reserve in connection with the aggravation of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
