New York City will also work with the State Liquor Administration to resolve related requirements for extending liquor services to surrounding property areas.

The Municipal Transportation Bureau (DOT) will issue specific implementation rules in early October, and catering businesses are not allowed to use the space of adjacent properties before then.

Heating device

As the weather turns cooler, New York City allows restaurants to incorporate heating equipment into the outdoor dining environment.

The restaurant can use heaters on both sidewalks and driveways, but propane and natural gas heaters are limited to sidewalks.
