Put the money saved back into the economy

Where does this exemption come from?

The French Observatory of Economic Conditions (OFCE) noted that, since the start of the health crisis linked to the coronavirus, the French had saved 75 billion euros.

Hence the government's hope to see this money reinjected into the economy: the last finance law, adopted this summer, introduced a temporary allowance of 100,000 euros on donations. This donation can therefore be made to children. , grandchildren but also great-grandchildren, or even nephews and nieces in the absence of descendants, respecting the following conditions: creation or development of a business with less than 50 employees or, construction or renovation energy of the primary residence of those who receive the gift.

The aim is to accelerate the energy transition of homes and to develop SMEs.

A new cumulative aid

What about tax-free assistance for parents for children, up to 100,000 euros, already in place for a long time?

They are now cumulative with this new possible aid, which is limited to June 30, 2021. The various possible reductions are therefore:

  • 100,000 euros on donations, every 15 years, between parents and children

  • 31,865 euros between grandparents under 80 and grandchildren

  • 5,310 euros for great-grandchildren

And so, now, it is 200,000 euros per parent and per child that can be given or 131,865 € per grandparent to each of the grandchildren.
