During the spring corona crisis, confidence in the government and ministers increased, but that rise is now broken.

In Novus 'latest survey of ministers' trust, everyone except the Minister for Higher Education, Matilda Ernkrans (S), backs down.

But only three percent of those surveyed trust her.

The leaves are still topping

Prime Minister Stefan Löfven still tops the list of who in the government that Swedes have high confidence in, but he loses significantly compared to the latest survey in June.

Of those surveyed, 35 percent answer that they have great or fairly great confidence in the Prime Minister, which is a drop of five percentage points.

Minister of the Interior Mikael Damberg (S), Minister of Culture Amanda Lind and Minister of Energy and Digitalisation Anders Ygeman (S) are also backing significantly.

- It surprises me that in principle all ministers lose.

We see no one moving forward.

I think that is quite startling, says Novus CEO Torbjörn Sjöström.

"New situation in Sweden"

He believes that the survey comes at a time when Swedes' concerns about the corona as a national crisis are declining and are instead being replaced by a fear of increased crime.

The ministers who are seen most in corona handling and in the debate on crime and punishment are found among those who lose the most, according to Torbjörn Sjöström.

 - We are entering a new situation in Sweden where the concern is not primarily about how dangerous the global pandemic is.

Now it's more about how we will manage going forward, he says.
