Abu Dhabi Police: 3000 dirhams fine for "transporting passengers in private vehicles"

In an awareness video broadcast on its social media platforms, Abu Dhabi Police warned of the dangers of illegally transporting passengers and its negative repercussions on their security and safety, and urged drivers of private vehicles not to engage in passenger transport activity without permission from the competent authorities.

It called on the public to use approved, licensed, and conforming to international safety requirements and standards, and to cooperate in combating illegal transport, in order to preserve the safety of all.

And she stressed the importance of cooperation with partners to address the illegal transportation of passengers, and to enhance security and community awareness by not using such vehicles that operate illegally, confirming the continuation of joint campaigns with the Integrated Transport Center in Abu Dhabi, as a strategic partner to control violators.

Colonel Mubarak Awad bin Mahiroum, Director of the Transportation Security Department, stated that Abu Dhabi Police has intensified inspection campaigns to reduce such violations.

He pointed out that the penalty for using the vehicle for transporting passengers without a license is a fine of 3000 dirhams and seizing the vehicle for a period of 30 days and 24 traffic points.
