This study, which is based on a panel of 1000 people questioned, on the media and journalists at a time of the health crisis is not kind to the journalist profession.

The place given to the

Covid-19

pandemic

in the media was too important for a large majority of those questioned.

The virus and its consequences in society are ubiquitous.

Only a quarter of French people believe that this place in information processing is balanced.

The most important criticism concerns the nature of the journalistic treatment of this pandemic.

It is anxiety-provoking for half of the French, excessive for 45% of them, catastrophist for 28%.

Only 12% found it educational and concrete.

The pandemic is anxious

The pandemic in itself is anxiety-provoking, but 43% of respondents believe that the media have fueled this fear.

13% explain that the work of journalists has enabled them to control and combat these anxieties.

All the same, everything is not to be thrown in the processing of information, according to this survey.

The amplification of fact checking, the verification of facts to fight against fake news, was appreciated.

Almost half of those polled think this work is necessary and useful.

30% would like there to be even more on the various media.
