China News Service, September 26, reported that on the evening of the 25th local time, an An-26 military aircraft crashed near Kharkov in eastern Ukraine.

According to the Russian Satellite Network, citing news from the Press Service of the Ukrainian Attorney General's Office, the accident has caused 25 deaths and 2 serious injuries.

The President of Ukraine described the incident as a "terrible tragedy."

  The Ukrainian Air Force said in a statement that there were 27 people on board, including the crew and students of the Kharkiv Air Force University.

Agence France-Presse reported that the crash occurred at about 8:50 that night. The body of the crashed aircraft caught fire when it landed. Firefighters extinguished the flames an hour later.

  Kharkiv Governor Oleksi Kutcher stated that the plane crashed during landing and the injured jumped off the plane when the plane was close to the ground.

He also said that the pilot had notified before the crash that the left engine of the plane had failed to operate, but more details will be investigated.

  Ukrainian President Zelensky said that preliminary intelligence showed that the plane crashed during a training flight, which was a "terrible tragedy."

Zelensky will go to Kharkiv on the 26th.

He also said that a committee is being established urgently to investigate the incident.
