The death toll from the new Coronavirus in Tunisia has exceeded 1,000 per day, according to what the Ministry of Health announced at dawn yesterday, at a time when the outbreak of the epidemic is witnessing a surge across the country.

According to the latest update, the number of infected people reached 1087, while 11 people died from the virus in one day, and this is a record number since the beginning of the outbreak of the epidemic last March.

The total number of deaths has reached 191, and 240 patients are hospitalized, compared to 71 in recovery rooms, and 27 patients who are undergoing artificial respiration.

Officials at the Ministry of Health warned of a more dangerous situation next October if the application of the health protocol to limit the spread of the virus is lax, and in light of the government's exclusion so far, a return to general quarantine.

The police began campaigns in the streets and public transport to impose wearing protective masks, while the authorities are moving to announce other measures to impose restrictions on assembly and transportation in the affected areas.

And the Minister of Health, Fawzi Mahdi, announced, on Friday evening, the return to the compulsory quarantine in the hostel for holders of the Corona virus, the ban on chairs and hookah smoking in cafes, starting from tomorrow, Monday, and the reduction in attendance at weddings and funerals.

The minister also announced the possibility of imposing a comprehensive quarantine in the delegations where the number of infections exceeds 250 HIV infections per 100,000 residents for a week, with the possibility of imposing a curfew on the entire territory of the republic if the number of virus cases continues to increase.
