The post of transitional prime minister is highly coveted.
In the ranks of M5 alone, the protest movement that contributed to the fall of President IBK, there are 14 declared candidates, including a woman.
Members of this political grouping could not agree on the name of a consensus candidate.
An M5 official therefore went to Kati, stronghold of the junta, to submit all the candidacy files.
But some wonder: why submit the files to Kati, when it is the
transitional president Bah N'Daw
who is supposed to appoint the future prime minister?
The answer is simple: the junta is still inescapable for the moment.
There are also candidates outside the M5 for the post of Prime Minister.
Among them, we speak of a financier, a banker, or even a former Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Malians are impatiently awaiting the name of the future head of government, but also the Economic Community of West African States, in order to
lift the embargo
on Mali.
