The architecture policy must be a support in the detailed planning work, the building permit process and in the agreements with builders.

The municipality's own properties are highlighted as particularly important and should serve as role models for other buildings in the municipality.

- It is very much about finding an identity in Knivsta, and creating clarity for both officials and builders.

The municipality must sit in the driver's seat, says Emma Lundbergh, community construction manager in Knivsta.

She says that so far it has been a bit too random whether the construction has been good or not.

With clearer wishes regarding facades, entrances, roofs, materials, signs, courtyards and more, the chances increase that the municipality will receive the construction that is in demand.

- The idea is that we will return to Knivsta's identity as a station community and small town.

Can it be said that there will not be such bold construction in the future?

- Yes, a little so you can see the new architectural policy.

Are there any risks with a policy, which may provide too narrow a framework and exclude certain builders?

- No I do not think so.

The difficulty will rather see this as a living document, which needs to be updated and keep up with the times.
