Everton took the lead in the Premier League on Saturday, with nine points from three matches, going to win at Crystal Palace (2-1), which already makes the squad led by Carlo Ancelotti a credible candidate for the Top 6 this season in England.

In this Everton-Palace looking like a duel between veterans of the benches, the youngest won: Roy Hodgson, the old manager of Crystal Palace (73 years old), paid his respects to the very experienced Italian coach of the Toffees (61 years old), before returning to the changing rooms.

Around a James Rodriguez who begins to take his marks, the players of the other club of Liverpool controlled a good part of the match, even if Crystal Palace resisted well and even equalized, on a corner, thanks to a beautiful header from Cheikhou Kouyaté (26th).

Premier League top scorer Dominic Calvert-Lewin had scored in the 10th minute, his fifth pawn this season, picking up a tight cross from Seamus Coleman perfectly thrown to the right by James.

The Brazilian Richarlison gave a decisive advantage to the Toffees by scoring from the penalty spot (40th), following a hand from Joel Ward in his area, after a recovery from the head of Lucas Digne on a center of James, again him.

- Everton received five out of five -

The Toffees are five wins in five games this season in all competitions.

In the opening match of this 3rd day, Manchester United snatched from Brighton (3-2) their first victory of the season, in the Premier League, in the dying seconds of a somewhat crazy match.

MU goes back to 13th place, but has not completely dispelled the doubts glimpsed after its initial defeat at home last Saturday against Crystal Palace (3-1).

The first match against Burnley had been postponed indefinitely due to the semi-final of the Europa League played at the end of August by United.

The Mancuniens lived a memorable afternoon against a particularly unlucky Brighton: five shots from the Seagulls hit a post or the crossbar of David De Gea this afternoon.

Before finding the nets, the Seagulls first touched wood.

The Belgian Leandro Trossard, who became international in early September, saw his powerful strike hit the left post (9th) then his second attempt to shave ... the right post (20th).

De Gea then deflected with his fingertips, on the crossbar a header from Aaron Connolly (29th).

The Red Devils have often been overtaken like Bruno Fernandes, guilty of a foul in the box on Tariq Lamptey.

- Panenka de Maupay for Brighton -

The French Neal Maupay then took charge of transforming it with finesse, with a subtle panenka (1-0, 39th).

His third goal this season.

United responded just before the break thanks to Harry Maguire whose shot was deflected against his side by Lewis Dunk (1-1, 43rd)

Video support was at the heart of the second half.

By first canceling a penalty for Brighton (49th) after a slight fault by Paul Pogba on Aaron Connolly.

Then by refusing a goal from Marcus Rashford for an offside position (51st).

Three minutes later the attacker finally gave the advantage to MU after a series of feints in the box (2-1.54 ').

But Brighton still found the posts on a shot from Solly March (59th) then a missile from Trossard on the transverse (76th).

Brighton's hopes ended up being rewarded with a header from March, left alone at the far post (2-2, 90 + 4).

It was without counting on a final rebound: a deflected head of Maguire deflected from the hand by Maupay.

New call for video and penalty for MU transformed by Bruno Fernandes (3-2, 90 + 7).
