There have been 7,005,746 coronavirus cases and at least 203,240 deaths in the

United States

.

This is what emerges according to data collected by Johns Hopkins University published by CNN.

After the first case in the country on January 21, 98 days later, on April 28, the United States reached 1 million cases;

44 days later, on 11 June, 2 million cases;

27 days later, on July 8, 3 million infections: 15 days later, on July 23, 4 million cases;

17 days later, on August 9, the United States struck 5 million cases;

22 days later, on August 31, 6 million cases and 25 days later, on September 25, the United States reached 7 million cases.

Only three other countries in the world have reported more than 1 million total cases of Covid-19: India with 5.8 million total cases, Brazil with 4.6 million cases and Russia with 1.1 million total cases.



On the day the United States crossed the seven million Covid-19 threshold, the governor of

Florida

announced the lifting of restrictions on bars, restaurants and other businesses, allowing them to fully operate.

Florida is one of the US states most affected by the pandemic, with nearly 700,000 cases of Covid-19 and 13,915 deaths.



The

Brazil

recorded 31,911 confirmed cases to Covid-19 in the last hours, with 729 deaths.

According to the Ministry of Health, the official death toll has risen to 140,537, according to data from the ministry.

Mexican



health authorities

have reported 405 new deaths and a further 5,401 COVID-19 infections in the past 24 hours.

For a total of 75,844 deaths and 720,858 coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic in the country.
