Anders Röhfors (M), who is the chairman of the municipal board, welcomes the announcement in a press release from Arboga municipality.

- It is like an early Christmas present, a welcome addition to our investment framework.

The manor bridge itself has a cultural-historical value and is a landmark in Arboga.

It is important that we make this investment to preserve the bridge, he says.

Reduced risk of icing

Measures that have been implemented in connection with the city subsidy are that the water regulation hatches have been replaced with a modern construction.

The doors and side surfaces are made entirely of stainless steel and to further increase efficiency and durability, doors and side plates in the extensions have been provided with ducts that are connected to the district heating network.

This is to reduce the risk of freezing and ice formation during the cold season.

The city grant will be paid in 2020 and 2021.
