The archaeologists at Dalarnas Museum have put the shovels in the ground in Ornäs outside Borlänge.

After studying old writings and maps, it was understood that there would be a copper cabin on the site, which today is a road connection down to the boat docks at Ösjön.

- It is very exciting I think, we are starting to get to the bottom here now and if we are lucky we will find personal belongings and tools for those who have worked here, says archaeologist Greger Brennström at Dalarnas Museum.

The excavation will continue for another week and when the work is completed, they have contributed to a relatively unexplored area in archeology.

- We have not examined so many copper cabins so far so we do not know exactly what it looked like here 400 years ago, says Greger Brennström.
