In June 2019, Evaëlle, a college student from Herblay, committed suicide after being the victim of school harassment in college.

Her parents had lodged a complaint against her French teacher, who, according to them, had done nothing to prevent this harassment.

Almost a year after the events, a teacher was indicted in Pontoise "for harassment of a minor of 15 years" with a ban to practice.

She was the subject of a complaint lodged by the parents of Evaëlle, an 11-year-old college student who had committed suicide in 2019. They accused her of having done nothing against the harassment of which the pre-teen was a victim, and even for having encouraged him.

It all starts in the first trimester of the 2018 school year. The French teacher criticizes Evaëlle for not using notebooks like her classmates, but a binder, in accordance with the recommendations of an orthopedist to lighten the weight of her schoolbag.

Teasing repeated by some students in the class.

Slaps on the back of the head, insults ... the ordeal of the 11-year-old girl is daily.

No action taken despite warning to management

Evaëlle "takes a lot" in French lessons, warn at the time several comrades of her class.

Two meetings with the management of the establishment are made but they will not lead to any protective measures.

A few months later, Evaëlle warns her parents.

The principal of the college then tries to free the floor in the class but nothing helps.

The mockery and insults are redoubled.

For her part, the French teacher organizes class sessions to attempt a conciliation but Evaëlle has the impression of finding herself in front of a court.

The French teacher in question continued to teach, even though new acts of harassment had been reported.

This time, justice put an end to all these practices.

The teacher is now indicted, placed under judicial supervision with a ban on teaching and an obligation to follow psychological care.
