Reconstruction Agency Budget request for next year Approximately 633 billion yen, a significant decrease from this year September 26, 4:10

The Reconstruction Agency has decided that the budget request for the next fiscal year will be completed at the end of March next year, and the planned infrastructure development has progressed, so it is about 1 trillion yen less than this year. We have decided on a policy of approximately 633 billion yen.

The Reconstruction Agency has finalized the contents of the reconstruction-related budget for the Great East Japan Earthquake, which will be included in the budget request for the next fiscal year.

According to this, the total budget request was 633.1 billion yen, which was 1,065 billion yen less than the requested amount this year.

According to government officials, the "reconstruction / creation period," which the government has positioned as the final stage of reconstruction, ended at the end of March next year, and the planned roads and other infrastructure development progressed. The main reason is that the amount requested has decreased significantly.

On the other hand, the government has positioned the five years from next year as the "second reconstruction / creation period", and in this budget request, 466.5 billion yen was allocated for the reconstruction / regeneration of the areas affected by the nuclear accident. Our policy is to improve the environment for returning to areas where evacuation orders have been lifted.
