Paris .. Four people injured in a knife attack

Four people were injured, two of them in critical condition, in a knife attack Friday near the former offices of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris.

Paris police said that two suspects had fled, before sources told AFP that one of them had been arrested.

The stabbing incident coincides with court sessions in Paris of the presumed accomplices of the perpetrators of the attack on Charlie Hebdo in January 2015, which killed 12 people.

A series of attacks in France since 2015 have killed 258 people.

Five years later, the level of the terrorist threat remains "very high," according to the Interior Ministry.

Police announced that they had brought in security reinforcements, closed bars, schools and kindergartens, and began searching and raiding the suspects.
