Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga had a telephone talk with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the night of the 25th, Kyodo News Agency reported.

This is the first time that Prime Minister Suga, who took office on the 16th, had a telephone talk with Xi.

Prime Minister Suga began with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and US President Donald Trump on the 20th, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and German Chancellor Charles Michelle on the 22nd, and Chairman of the European Union (EU) Summit on the 22nd, Thomas Bach, Chairman of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Boris on the 23rd. On the 24th, British Prime Minister Johnson and President Moon Jae-in met on the phone.

Prior to this, Kyodo News reported that there is a possibility that Prime Minister Suga and President Xi will exchange opinions on the state visit to Japan, which was originally scheduled for April this year but was postponed in the aftermath of the spread of the novel coronavirus infection.

The Chinese-Japanese summit's phone call was made by the Chinese side accepting the Japanese offer, according to Kyodo News.
