Racial inequality in the United States has cost the American economy $ 16 trillion over the past 20 years, according to a study by Citigroup Bank.

Salary, housing, education, investments ... The findings of the Citigroup study are clear.

If the United States had narrowed the racial divide 20 years ago for black Americans, an additional $ 16 trillion could have been brought to the American economy

 ," it reads.

The study of the bank is also prospective since it estimates that reducing these inequalities today "would

make it possible to inflate the American gross domestic product of 5000 billion dollars in the next five years

 ".

America's third largest bank is walking the talk, promising to invest $ 1 billion over the next three years to reduce these wealth inequalities.

Is it about being in the era of time, and seducing the African-American population while the Black Lives Matter movement continues to grow?

Is it a question of responding to the call of the American Federal Bank, an official of which last week called on economic and financial players to act against institutional racism?

When making this appeal, Raphael Bostic recalled that the wealth of white households remained ten times that of black households.

Barely better than 100 years ago.
