Eintracht Frankfurt provisionally took the lead in the Bundesliga on Friday, thanks to their 3-1 victory in Berlin against Hertha, in the early match of the second day.

With four points in two games, Frankfurt can be overtaken on Saturday and Sunday by the six teams who have three points at the end of the first day.

In goal difference, Bayern Munich, who play Sunday at Hoffenheim, are still the best placed after their inaugural 8-0 against Schalke.

Due to restrictions linked to the Covid-19 epidemic, only 4,000 spectators were able to attend the match, in the huge Olympic stadium in Berlin (75,000 seats).

Kevin Trapp's Eintracht scored twice on set pieces in the first period: by the Portuguese André Silva on a penalty (1-0, 30th) then by the Dutch Bas Dost, who victoriously headed a free kick eccentric on the right (2-0.36e).

Silva, definitely acquired by Frankfurt for 24 million euros after a season on loan from AC Milan, has scored ten goals since the post-coronavirus recovery in mid-May, the same score over the Bundesliga period as Robert Lewandowski, the artificer of Bayern Munich.

Sebastian Rode, former player of Munich and Dortmund, added to the addition in the 71st minute with a beautiful shot wrapped from the left at the entrance to the area (3-0).

Frankfurt defender Martin Hinteregger then scored Hertha's only goal against his own camp (77th, 3-1).

The three championship heavyweights, Munich, Dortmund and Leipzig, who won their first match, play in Hoffenheim (Sunday 3.30 p.m.), Augsburg and Leverkusen (Saturday 3.30 p.m.) respectively.
