There is no question for now of considering a return to the very strict measures of spring 2020 but the mayor of Moscow no longer hides his concern about the latest figures of the coronavirus, very bad in the Russian capital.
More than a thousand new cases last Thursday, the highest level recorded in Moscow since the end of June.
More worrying still: the number of people hospitalized, which increased by 30% in one week.
Reinforced controls
Faced with the risk of a second wave, the mayor of Moscow refuses for the moment to consider a reconfinement.
But he asks the elderly to stay at home, and companies to favor teleworking.
Finally, controls will be stepped up in transport and public places.
But the wearing of masks and gloves, however compulsory in Moscow, is less and less respected by the inhabitants of the Russian capital.
Do not hinder the recovery of the economy
The country's authorities want at all costs to avoid resorting to more drastic measures, so as not to hamper the recovery of the Russian economy.
To date, more than a million cases have been recorded
in Russia
, with the disease killing just under 20,000 people.
