Tan Kefei said that in accordance with the national epidemic prevention and control work decision and deployment, in accordance with the principle of conscription work subject to epidemic prevention and control, the conscription work in the first half of this year was postponed to the second half of the year.
At present, the transfer of recruits is being carried out in an orderly manner throughout the country, and the recruitment will be completed by the end of September.
This year's conscription work has four main characteristics: First, the enthusiasm of the vast number of school-age young people across the country to join the army to serve the country continues to rise, and the number of applicants exceeds 3 million.
The second is the continuous improvement of the quality of soldiers. According to preliminary statistics, the proportion of college students, especially college graduates, has increased significantly compared with last year, and the scale and structure of college student recruitment has continued to be optimized.
Third, the Ministry of Education and the National Defense Mobilization Department of the Military Commission jointly issued a notice, successively introducing a series of policies and measures to attract more outstanding young people of the right age to join the barracks.
