• Paris call to Italy: dock the Alan Kurdi ship in the nearest safe harbor

24 September 2020After days of rebound between several ports that have remained closed, Alan Kurdi arrives today in front of the port of Arbatax, in Sardinia.

The ship of the German NGO Sea Eye with 125 migrants on board, 87 of whom have been minors for days has been wandering in search of a safe harbor, with at least four countries - Germany, France, Malta and Italy - which bounce responsibilities.

From what has been learned from the Harbor Master's Office, a "mooring point" has been granted near the Ogliastra Island, for the next 3/4 days, to allow the ship to shelter from the bad weather already arriving this night, with gusts mistral even at over 50 km / h.

The ship of the German NGO has been blocked since Saturday due to the lack of response from the centers for the coordination of marine rescue.

Yet the deputy mayor of Marseille had said: "Ready to welcome, it's our tradition", then the reverse of Paris "Italy will let Alan Kurdi land".

The news of the route to Arbatax was also given by the NGO Sea Eye itself on Twitter.

Die italienischen Behörden kontaktierten uns Dienstag Mitternacht, um nach 5 Tagen (!) Die „weitere Koordinierung“ zu besprechen und dem Schiff in Arbatax Wetterschutz zu bieten.
