Xinhua News Agency, Taipei, September 24 (Reporters Wu Jihai, Fu Shuangqi) Taiwan police announced on the 24th that the police received a report recently that a fraud group set up a fraud computer room in Wujieshan District, Nantou. After the police investigation, they went to the mountain and arrested 14 suspects in the computer room on the spot. People, and seized evidence such as mobile phones, laptops, and wireless routers.

  According to the Taiwan police, this scam group pretended to be a mainland public security officer to defraud mainland citizens. It has defrauded 97 mainland victims in two months, with a fraudulent fund of up to 3.1 million yuan.

  The police said that 14 suspects had been transferred to the Nantou District Procuratorate for fraud.

Follow-up matters such as contacting victims on the mainland will be handled in accordance with relevant cross-strait mechanisms.
