On October 1, the one-mile-long new stretch of road will open to the public.
It is a so-called 2 + 1 road with center railings.
- It improves the commuting opportunity between Motala and Linköping and connects Borensberg with Motala urban area, says municipal councilor Anneli Almérus (M).
It is currently being investigated whether the heavily trafficked road 34 will be further renovated.
- We are reviewing another section that does not have a 100 standard today and the investigation will be completed by the end of the year, says Julie Tran (C), regional councilor.
Planning started in 2005 and the construction of the new section has cost 200 million.
