Abu Dhabi Police revealed that last year, reckless drivers in Abu Dhabi caused 25 serious accidents due to exceeding the speed limit by more than 60 kilometers per hour, confirming that it included this violation among the serious traffic violations.

She pointed out that applying the punishment to the violator does not exempt him from the penalty stipulated in the Federal Traffic Law, which is the fine of 2000 dirhams, 12 traffic points and the vehicle seizure for 30 days.

She stated that the Traffic and Patrols Directorate is constantly working on reviewing and updating the list of applicable legislations and regulations according to traffic reality, and has studied the most dangerous violations that cause accidents, including exceeding the speed limit, with the aim of deterring careless drivers by toughening penalties and enhancing traffic safety.

Abu Dhabi Police has warned of some irresponsible reckless behaviors by some drivers that lead to confusion and harm to others, and threaten their safety on the road, calling on vehicle drivers to take caution and caution, adhere to the prescribed speeds, not be distracted by other roads, and adhere to traffic laws and rules to avoid the occurrence Traffic accidents, in order to preserve the safety of road users.
