If the presidential election remains set for December 27, the convocation of voters, scheduled in three days, is postponed to October 27.

The last vote in the National Assembly

will not change anything, explain the opposition and civil society.

They say they are convinced that the National Election Authority, which they describe as "

incompetent

", is going to fail despite this additional delay.

Alexandre Ferdinand Nguendet, current president of COD 2020, one of the main opposition political coalitions, almost begs President Faustin-Archange Touadéra: “

In five years, the National Elections Authority has not been able to organize things in accordance with to legal texts, it is not in ten days that it will catch up.

This is why we are launching a patriotic appeal to the President of the Republic to convene, as soon as possible, the vital forces of the nation.

 "

About ten days ago, the ANE claimed to have already registered just over 1.6 million voters.

A figure still far from the 1.9 million in 2015, observe observers.

The presidential camp says it has taken into account the additional time requested by this Authority, but does not want to engage in its name.

In any case, we, the force of the majority, cannot prejudge what the ANE will do, but we have granted its request as requested in its report, in order to meet the deadlines

", explains Jean Séphorien. Mapenzi, the first vice-president of the National Assembly.

On the side of the ANE, where almost all the commissioners have deployed in foreign countries for the enlistment of the Central African diaspora, we say we are "

confident

 ", as usual.
