[Global Network Report] Reuters just reported that on the 23rd local time, a fuel tanker in Kogi State in central Nigeria exploded and caught fire, killing at least 28 people.

  According to the report, the spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Agency (FRSC) of Nigeria, Bisi Kazim, said that nine children were involved in the accident on the opposite side of a gas station on the Lokoja-Saliagi Highway in the state.

  The report also said that the Governor of Kogi State Yahya Bello said in a statement that the accident that occurred earlier on Wednesday resulted in casualties and that the fire destroyed many vehicles, property and other valuables.

  Reuters mentioned that traffic accidents often occur in Nigeria and the local road conditions are very poor.
