For the first time since the corona pandemic broke out, Västerås City will have the theme of shopping day, which means that stores will be able to be open until 8 pm tonight.

A clear sign that city shopping is slowly but surely starting to recover, says Maria Fors.

- It is spread over three days so that you do not gather all customers at the same time, she says.

She believes that the stores that did best during the pandemic are the ones that were able to adapt quickly.

For businesses such as hotels and the hospitality industry, it has been really tough.

- We have stores where, for example, you drive home shoes so that the customer can try on the shoes at home instead of in a store.

Other stores offer customers to come to the store before it has opened up to the public if you want to avoid being there when there are people, she says.

In the clip above, Maria Fors talks about how many more people from Västerås have started to move in the city center.
