His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, yesterday, received the first dose of the "Covid-19" vaccine, during his visit to Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi, in support of him for the national program for using the vaccine in The state, and to encourage cadres of vital sectors.

His Highness inspected the procedures for the first day of the process of administering the "Covid-19" vaccine to cadres working in the vital sectors from the first line of defense in the emirate, after the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, last week, authorized its use for workers in the first line of defense.

His Highness presented the recipient of the vaccine, stressing the leadership’s interest in workers on the first line of defense, and its keenness to ensure the utmost safety and security for them.

The trials conducted in the country, with the participation of more than 31 thousand volunteers, of 125 nationalities, have proven that the vaccine is safe and effective, and resulted in a strong response to fight the virus.

The use of the vaccine will allow to save lives and reduce the injuries resulting from the "Covid-19" pandemic, which is one of the ways the state has taken to limit the spread of the epidemic and protect the safety of society.
