His denials will not have wavered the jurors.

Alexandre Bresse, a 22-year-old cook, was sentenced Wednesday to 30 years of criminal imprisonment by the Haute-Garonne Assize Court for the murder and rape in 2018 of Alicia, 14 years old.

He also receives seven years of socio-judicial follow-up with compulsory care.

In the upper range of requisitions

It is therefore a sentence in the upper range of requisitions.

The lawyer general Céline Fleury, had claimed in the morning of 25 and 30 years of imprisonment refuting the thesis of an "accident" occurred during consensual sexual relations to which the accused clung throughout the trial, which opened on Monday.

The mother of the schoolgirl said she was "reassured" and "relieved" by the judgment.

"This young man will not be able to hurt anyone for 30 years," for his part reacted Alicia's father.

Echoing the depositions of the experts, the Advocate General painted the portrait of a young man with "deviant sexual behavior", subject at 15 years of a conviction for exhibition, "who is in the habit of lying".

The version of a consensual sexual relationship, "does not stand up to the investigation", she stressed, pointing in particular to the "severe injuries" inflicted on the schoolgirl during an "imposed" report.

The defense lawyer, Me Muriel Amar-Touboul, had for his part pleaded the thesis of an erotic game having gone wrong.

She had called on the jurors to "not give in to the dictatorship of emotion" towards a man whom she accused the accusation of having made "a monster".

The body found at the accused's home

Alicia had been discovered in cardio-respiratory arrest on the evening of April 19, 2018 by gendarmes in the accused's apartment in Beauzelle, near Toulouse, where she had gone with a mutual friend.

His father, present at the time of his discovery, and his mother-in-law had sounded the alarm, worried about his delay in returning.

Described by the civil parties as "a teenager full of life, serious, a young girl like the others", she was hidden in a bed-trunk, a T-shirt in the mouth and a cord around the neck.

She was initially able to be revived, but died in hospital.

The accused had tried to hide the body of the young girl in the trunk on which he had sat, before fleeing.

He was quickly arrested in the nearby town of Blagnac.

"I do not remember any more, I did anything by modifying the scene of crime", he affirmed during the trial, invoking his "panic" in front of the civil parties calling him to "say the truth ".

“I am not a rapist.

I never raped anyone, ”he said again before the jury withdrew.

Justice will therefore not believe his version.
