The Foreign Ministry spokesman stressed that "China supports Belarus's efforts to ensure state independence, sovereignty, national security and development," and also opposes external forces "creating a split and unrest in Belarusian society."

“We hope that under the leadership of President Alexander Lukashenko, Belarus will be able to restore political stability and tranquility,” RIA Novosti quotes the diplomat.

Earlier, the official representative of the Cabinet of Ministers of Germany, Steffen Seibert, commented on the inauguration ceremony of Alexander Lukashenko.

He stated that "this ceremony was prepared in secret and held without the participation of the public, this is already significant."

According to the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, the new mandate adopted by Lukashenka "does not have sufficient democratic legitimacy."
