In June, Cuba called a criminal decision by the United States to include seven Cuban organizations on the sanctions list during the pandemic.

In October 2019, the United States suspended flights to Cuba airports, with the exception of the capital's Jose Marti Airport, and imposed travel restrictions on Cuban officials.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that the United States deliberately violates human rights when it imposes sanctions on Cuba.
