Hear more about what kind of weapons have been used in the clip above

- The criminal classifications we have are animal cruelty and serious gun crime, says Thomas Agnevik, press spokesperson at the police.

In June, the riding school horse Bella was shot in the pasture in the middle of the day while a riding camp was going on.

It was a stable girl who told me that they had seen a bloody horse in the pasture.

The bullet went far into the abdomen and caused severe injuries and the horse was killed.

The investigation closed

Since the incident almost three months ago, the police have held interrogations, conducted a technical investigation and searched with a dog in the area.

The police have no suspected perpetrators and now the investigation has been closed.

- The investigative measures we have been able to carry out have been carried out, which is why the investigation is currently closed.

But is it the case that something turns out to be, for example, a message from the NFC that a weapon that has been seized can be linked to the case, then the investigation is underway again, says Thomas Agnevik.

"Think of all the possible ways to protect your horses"

Recently, there have been several attacks on horses in different parts of the country and the police have a call for horse owners.

- There are people in our society who injure horses from time to time.

It is incredibly sad and for me personally completely incomprehensible, and in that context I just want to say that if you see something suspicious near horses, call the police.

- I just want to appeal to horse owners to think of all possible ways to protect your horses.

Take them in if possible, when they are unattended.

There are also opportunities to use lighting.

Camera surveillance may be appropriate in some places to increase the safety of the horses, says Thomas Agnevik.
