Tokyo Olympics and Para athletes will be able to take measures to prevent epidemics and participate in the tournament September 23, 19:21

A meeting was held to examine the immigration control of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, and representative athletes from each country were allowed to enter the country after taking necessary epidemic prevention measures, and even during the two-week waiting period, they went to the Games. The proposal to create a mechanism that allows the participation of the Olympic Games was approved.

At the meeting held at the Prime Minister's Office, officials from the government, Tokyo, and the Games Organizing Committee attended and discussed the acceptance of representatives from each country visiting Japan.

In this, the government proposed to take necessary epidemic prevention measures, allow entry, and create a mechanism that allows participation and practice in the competition even during the two-week waiting period.

Specifically, we request that inspections be conducted before leaving Japan and when entering Japan, and that in principle, people should travel by private car without using public transportation, and all the processes in Japan. Will be submitted to comprehensively understand from entry to departure.

The attendees did not object to this, and the proposal was accepted.

These policies will be reported at the meeting with the IOC (International Olympic Committee) starting on the 24th.
