President Moon Jae-in declared five cities and counties and 19 towns and villages affected by Typhoon Mysak and Typhoon No. 10 as special disaster zones.



Among the cities and counties, five were selected: Gangneung-si, Inje-gun, Goseong-gun, Gangwon-do, Pohang-si and Gyeongju-si, Gyeongbuk.



Gijang-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan, Daepo-dong, Sokcho-si, Gangwon-do, Dongbu-myeon, Geoje-si, Gyeongnam, Aewol-eup, Jeju-si, etc. were selected as eup-myeon-dong.



If it is declared as a special disaster area, you can receive support from the national treasury for a portion of the damage recovery expenses that must be borne by local expenses.



Deputy Spokesman Lim Se-eun of the Blue House explained, "President Moon has instructed to make sure that no areas are marginalized for damage recovery, and to designate it as a special disaster area before Chuseok, by scrutinizing the Eup, Myeon and Dong units."



On the 15th, President Moon declared five local governments, including Samcheok-si and Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do, as special disaster zones.
